A meticulous passion
“What is the greatest lesson a woman should learn?” asks the pop poet Rupi Kaur. “That since day one, she’s already had everything she needs within herself. It’s the world that convinced her she does not”
It all began in 2006, when Randall Wong opened what would soon become the city’s most chic boutique salon in Kuala Lumpur. A decade on he passed the keys to Geetha Suppiah, who would take the Met on its onward journey to becoming the city’s first Grand Salon. After a stint as an accountant Geetha turned her attention to the world of hair couture & make-up, studying the modern intricate details with the masters of colour in Melbourne before immersing herself in the eastern & traditional knowledge in Indonesia, East Malaysia & Korea. In 2016, The Met Grand Salon re-birthed as South East Asia’s first official purveyors of French fashion house Balmain’s Hair Couture and Californian darling Philip B. But The Met Grand Salon’s true secret lied in its own concoctions, forgotten secrets from its region, patiently acquired through weeks & months spent with the elders of Bali, Borneo, India, Korea & Japan.
Today Geetha & her World-Class trained team serve the esteemed clients of The Met Grand Salon with meticulous passion, deeply honed craft and a range of treatments carefully curated for our clients needs, each with a rich story to tell.
